I don’t consider myself a political person, but this is one time where I’m in complete agreement with you. I applaud what you’re doing and I intend to stand up and be counted. This tax must be stopped!!

Being in the food service industry I continue to see my COSTS rising almost daily. Be it the COST of flour, the COST of labour or increases in my ‘fixed ‘COSTS, the COST of business is increasing while profits are declining. In other words it is COSTING me a lot more today than ever before to stay afloat. If the HST is imposed there is yet another COST I have to bear. At what point can a restaurateur continue to increase his or her prices to offset the continuing COST of doing business before no one come through the door? Should we consider HST just another COST of doing business? Unfortunately this tax will COST many of us our clientele and potentially our business. I feel it will also COST many of the politicians their jobs… which maybe isn’t such a bad thing.

There is a point where raising taxes or bringing in new taxes in will have are worse effect on the economy then the benefit they bring. We are well passed that point now. Already the government is registering a reduction in tax revenue after the carbon tax was brought in. Now they want to bring in the HST. I fear this will be a downward spiral for our economy if we can’t stop this government. As for the impact on me personally I can tell you that I will definitely lose my employment if this tax comes in. So they leave me no choice. I have to fight them.
With the taxes we already pay the government should have no trouble running things. If they are not able to get by with what we already send them then they are doing something wrong. We cannot afford to let this go.
