Join the Fight HST Rally August 8 – Stanley Park Entrance

The people have spoken with the Fight HST petition and the campaign to repeal the HST will continue until the B.C. government listens. Come and join Fight HST volunteers and other British Columbians in another rally to demonstrate unity, strength and support for the ongoing Fight HST campaign.

Date: August 8, 2010 (Sunday)

Time: 1:30pm Assemble in the parking lot of the Devonian Harbour Park on Denman St. @ W. Georgia St.

Receive sign and instructions.
2:00pm Proceed to walk to the sidewalks along Georgia St. on both sides to start our rally.
3:30pm End rally and return signs at parking lot.

Transit:
Just a pleasant 15-20 minute walk from the Burrard Skytrain station or if you prefer to take the bus, grab the 19-Stanley Park or any of the many other buses available.
http://tripplanning.translink.ca/hiwire.

Parking:
Street meter parking – $2 per hour

Here’s a video clip of the last rally on June 26th

Since all British Columbians are affected by the HST, please pass on this invite to your personal contacts and ask your friends and family to pass it on to everyone they know. Only by working together can we show this arrogant government that it cannot impose such a fundamental change in taxation without the expressed consent of the majority.

Please RSVP by email through the “CONTACT” Form here: http://fighthst.com/contact/ so we know we can count on your support.

Signs will be provided at the rally.

Thank you so much Bill Van derzam for all your help and support in working to put an end to this absolutely ridiculous tax being imposed on British Columbians by an evil, selfish, money grabbing government who only care about themselves. We will win this fight and Gordon Campbell and his minions are going down. So much for the legacy he says he is going to leave British Columbians and his grandchildren.

As I am unable to get to Vancouver for the rally, would it be possible for one to be held in Victoria. I would be there with bells on and would be prepared to help organize one if need be.

Keep up the good work everyone and especially Bill.

We will make every effort to attend the rally even though an island event would be easier to attend. We think the Campbell government is assuming we’re all going to go into a great big snooze,so an enthusiastic rally is
just what we need. We must keep our following animated and alert
while the dark forces mustered against us do their best to debunk
everyone once again!

This rally is being organized by local volunteers, if someone in any other area of BC would like to organize a Rally at the same time and make this a province wide event, we would be more than happy to post the information.

The six associations that filed the Pro-HST claim are the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association, Mining Association of B. C., B. C. Chamber of Commerce, Coast Forest Products, Council of Forest Industries, and the Western Convenience Stores Association.

It’s time to stop blaming the non voters. The voters are the ones that voted for Liberals. The non voters couldn’t bring themselves to vote for any of the parties, can you really blame them?

I have been fed up with the liberals ever since gordon campbell had his hawaii experience and then the BC Rail sell, HST lies, now ida chong escape what next. I say we should get gordon campbell and all his cohorts together and get them to vote against this HST, OR GET THEM OUT OF THE PARLIAMENT. Then we should make sure that the NDP and all the MLA’S AND MP’s have no hidden agenda’s or any deep secrets that may come out of the closet and cause more court cases or even make an embarrassment to the party. Who will then take over the Liberal? is another questiion, But we the people need to know what the financial situation is really about so we can maybe make some suggestions on how to correct the system.
But lets not waste anymore time on the HST just go ahead and get the gordon campbell group together and make them fest up to the situation as they all have been duped and are basically all liars.

If you don’t like who’s in power, make sure they aren’t rewarded with longevity. Dirty elections practically guarantee a low turn out – on purpose! But why would we give them deeper roots?

POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS SHOULD BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

Would it be possible to have a rally here in Kelowna. Colin Hansen, BC Finance Minister attended a Chamber of Commerce meeting here and there was no-one to represent the electorate in attendance to give a rebuttal to his pro-HST speech.

Is there some way to announce his trips around the province so we can protest at them. We have to keep this issue in the public arena and not let it disappear.

Great job done everyone.

Another method to show Liberals we mean business!

The Liberals supposedly are using a mailing campaign explaining the HST to all citizens of BC. here is a suggestion, when you receive this mail out write a comment (We don’t want he HST) or something similar but no profanity, sign it and write return to sender.
This will keep the fires burning and the media might get wind of it.

We are suckers, we always have been cos we just dont stand up and fight, maybe this time we will show our right to speak and make them listen, It is about time.
This tax thing started for a reason way back and was supposed to end after the war was paid for, someone seen the lining of the pockets and we have paid ever since. We call our leaders stupid cos they waste money on things that just dont help us like paintings, stc, when will we see that those are cover ups so when they take bonuses for themselves we lose count, that is what it is all about. Sick of being the little guy who takes the hit all the time.

let us not forget Liberals have risen 21% salary for all of them by using our money now hst and soon if you go across the bridge in Surrey cost all of us $3.50 each way. Recently Liberals say if you buy a hambuger with a beer it cost cheaper with hst, sorry I don’t push me to be a drunker like GOrdon Campbell

Patrick Pitman,

Your suggestion is quite good, actually it’s excellent. The media could have a hay day and it would keep the Fight HST alive even more.

Has anyone got the mail-out yet, or when it’s going to go out?

Wonder if Campbell is out on the hustings at town-halls? I highly doubt it.

Has anyone seen any TV ads yet?

People, let’s spread the message of what we will do with the mail-out once we receive it.

Her again is Patrick’s suggestion.

The chuckle of the month. The BC caucus, had their meeting in Vancouver. They have decided against the, HST mail-out, because the HST, has been so well received. It’s not necessary.

BIG Business and the BC Liberal Government are pouring money hand over fist to convince the people of BC that the HST is good for us. How does making BC too expensive to live in good for families, the middle class, the poor or BC???

Don’t drink the Kool-Aid BC!!
Stand up and tell the BC Liberal Government we don’t want the HST.

I’ll be at the FightHST rally doing just that.

How can government say that this HST is good for small businesses?

My son operates a coffee shop downtown and has had a rent increase of over $400.00. How is he going to find that easy when this tax has increased the costs of his beverages??? HELLO!

I think it’s time you think long and hard about this, Mr. Campbell!

During the rally I was interviewed by a reporter from the Vancouver Province, and the report appeared online later in the day. Although I was quoted, I am very disappointed because the reporter did not report any of the substance of what I told her.
