Jun 23, 2010 Press Release
Petitioners publish new “HST Hit List” of Liberal MLAs targeted for Recalls
Delta – As the petition to repeal the HST nears the 700,000 signature mark, organizers say they are drafting plans to begin Recalls starting in November.
Canvassers have collected over 670,000 signatures, despite many constituencies winding down or ceasing collection now that they have met or exceeded their targets of 15% of registered voters signatures in all 85 ridings.
Fight HST Leader, Bill Vander Zalm, says he expects the petition to hit the 700,000 signature mark by the time he delivers it to Elections BC on June 30th. He says his group is beginning plans for the next steps following the petition.

Peace River North leading the pack with 25% of registered voters signed

“That is a very conservative number,” said Delaney. “We are only tabulating those petitions that have been received by the Regional Organizers and that are being shipped as of Monday.”
Delaney says the actual number of signatures collected by canvassers and captains is much higher, with 36 ridings yet to file their reports. He says that of the 49 ridings that have filed, there are still many more signatures in their pipelines that have yet to be collected by the Regional Organizers as well. Read the rest of this entry »
